Instant Florence – a little Italy for the iPhone
UPDATE – Instant Florence is now available in the App Store! You can find it here, or search for it by name in the iTunes store, or on your iPhone or iPod Touch. If you do buy it, we’d love to know what you think – please help us out by rating the app on iTunes. Thanks! P
Back in June we met up with freelance journalist Donald Strachan to talk about our Instant Cities iPhone apps. Donald was writing a feature for the Sunday Telegraph on the best travel apps for the iPhone, and was already a fan of our work. Aside from feature writing, Donald is also an indecently successful travel writer and a leading authority on Florence in particular; the titles he has produced for Frommer’s are not only award winning, but amongst the most popular books on the subject around the world.
We thought it’d be fun to work together to produce our next app – Instant Florence. Nobody can speak with more practical experience of exploring this enchanting city than Donald, so we were thrilled when he agreed to produce the content.

Donald’s work is first class and a must-read, and we’ve upgraded the navigation to include A – Z search; some of the feedback we received suggested people would like an alternative to the image search, in cases where they know landmarks and attraction my name. Instant Florence has now been submitted to Apple for approval, so expect it to be available in a couple of weeks time. P
